G-JITTER EFFECTS ON DIFFUSION FLAMES

ABSTRACT

This paper considers the effects of g-jitter on gaseous diffusion flames in quiescent or slowly convecting environments. Evidence of the effects of g-jitter on these flames is obtained from reduced gravity experiments conducted on board aircraft flying parabolic trajectories. Results of a two-dimensional analysis of g-jitter induced flame shape oscillations for gas diffusion flames are also presented.
