6727 Microgravity Environment and Telescience Branch

 

Responsible for the development and operation of acceleration measurement and recording systems for microgravity missions. These missions include the Space Shuttle, International Space Station (ISS), ground based test facilities, aircraft and sounding rockets.

Responsible for providing microgravity requirements formulation and information on describing the microgravity environment to principal investigators/experimenters. Characterize microgravity environment of experiment carriers which include the Space Shuttle, International Space Station, ground-based test facilities, aircraft and sounding rockets.

Represent the Microgravity Research Program Office microgravity environment requirements to the ISS Program.

Responsible for the development and operations of the GRC Telescience Support Center.

Responsible for the overall implementation and budget of the Glovebox Program.

Responsible for the budget and utilization of ground-based microgravity facilities which includes the 2.2 second drop tower, the Zero-g facility and the KC-135.

Responsible for the development and operations of the Computational Microgravity Laboratory.
