GRC MSD WEB POLICIES

Background Information:

Many people have asked about the operational and informational policies of the MSD World Wide Web Servers. The information provided here on this page, and through the links on it is provided as a partial response to those who have asked or are otherwise interested.

Please remember that all governing NASA policies do apply to the MSD WWW servers. We've tried to group those most applicable here, but the failure to include a reference here doesn't mean an applicable policy doesn't apply.

General MSD Policy Statement:

The management and staff of the Microgravity Science Division recognize the worth of using the network for Official Business purposes to disseminate information to interested parties at universities, research centers, commercial industries, as well as within the federal government. As such, they've put together an incomplete collection of web pages designed to share previously published NASA information as well as current data related to the day to day business of the division. The eventual goal is to have WWW pages for each experiment, project, facility, or work group.

The intent of the pages on MSD WWW servers is to convey accurate, timely, and useful data to any and all interested parties. As such, a reasonable effort attempt is made to keep each page free of non-government related (ie. personal) references and other non-pertinent information. All pages should have a distinct business-like approach and look and feel. Personal information and opinions should be kept to a minimum, and should not be the focal point of any page.

In order to achieve this level of data integrity, all MSD personnel are charged with the responsibilities to ensure that their specific areas are accurately presented and represented. Each member of the MSD team is expected to police his/her own set of pages, and to alert others of potential problems with pages, or the information contained on them.
